Dex was considered a patient that would not survive covid due to not being vaccinated. They treated him as if he was certainly going to die.
My husband was placed on the ventilator as soon as he was admitted. During the 63 days in the ICU I argued with Dr Ruiz about weaning Dex off of the ventilator. This doctor placed Dex on straight oxygen which took a high toll on his heart. I was told by one nurse that his cardiac numbers were high because I was in the room with him. My husband was treated as if he was going to die. Dex developed a tragic unstageable bed sore on his lower back. Wound care said to turn him when he needed surgery to remove all of the necrotic tissue. This sore left him with a colostomy and PAINFUL wound care. A nephrologist told me his kidney's would never recover and I should consider his quality of life. His kidneys recovered. Dex had difficulty weaning off of the fentanyl and versed so they put it in his history that he was admitted with an opiod addiction which was a lie. I refused to remove him from the ventilator. The staff knew that I was not going to give up. Dex was called the "miracle patient" because he woke up out of their death trap. Dex was hospitalized until 1/6/2022 with 3 different rehab facilities. He came home to a hospital bed and electric wheelchair. No attorney would take our medical malpractice case due to the government protecting these death trap hospitals. Dex passed on 7/14/2022 from a MI on 7/14/2022. I lost my soul mate and very best friend. I am angry.

Today would had been my husband, Dexter G Sullivan Jr’s, 56th Birthday. My husband, best friend and soul mate died July 14th, 2022 at 1:16 pm in our bed after not sleeping well the night before. In the early morning hours of July 14th I heard Dex talking to God. It was like he was getting right with God. Around 8am, Thursday morning, I changed his colostomy bag and instead of being his wife and holding him like he asked me to I was more concerned about his skin being damaged by the blown colostomy bag.
Our journey started on July 19th, 2021 when he was diagnosed with Covid. His employer hid the fact their was Covid in the plant. Dex was a tool manager where he performed maintenance on the molds that were very important to their production. They sent a maintenance supervisor home. Management took this individual outside and told him he had been working with individuals that had Covid. They told this individual to go home, get tested, BUT do not tell anyone in the plant or he would basically lose his job. Ten days after this happened, July 19th, 2021, my husband, then fiancé, was finally told to go get a Covid test. This could have all been avoided if his employer would’ve sent Dex home with the whole maintenance department when they walked the maintenance supervisor out. Unfortunately this company’s bottom line was more important than my husband’s life.
THIS WAS THE FIRST ASSAULT ON MY SOUL MATE. Dex tested positive on July 19, 2021. I tested positive on July 20, 2021. (no legal recourse per attorneys). THE SECOND ASSAULT was committed by our family physician. I felt like I had a terrible summer cold, but Dex still wasn’t feeling well. When he saw his CNP while in his Avalanche, because God Forbid he go into the office, the CNP disregarded his symptoms of continuous fever and told Dex to go home and stay away from the public. I found out later that Dex didn’t remember driving to this appointment. On Friday, July 30th my fiancé at the time woke up delirious.
I took him the ER in Niceville, FL. They would not allow me to be with him. I kept in contact with the ER. Dex had a hard time speaking. I was told Dex had sepsis, in kidney failure and still tested positive for Covid. Why didn’t the CNP run tests when Dex was really sick. THE THIRD ASSAULT was life flighting him to Orlando, FL to Orlando Regional Medical Center, 403 miles from our home. During the time he was on a ventilator, from 7/31/2021 to 9/3/2021 he was counted out as a dead person and the health care professionals treated him as so .THE FOURTH ASSAULT was when Dex sustained an unstageable wound. I had asked for wound care to see him and care for the wound, they never came.
I asked for a special mattress to help with bed sores. It fell on deaf ears until a travelling nurse finally put him on a sand mattress, but I was told the damage was already done. He had a debridement of the wound where you could see his spine, muscle and nerve damage. I have all of the pictures. The infectious disease doctor couldn’t figure out where the infection was in his body when all along it was from pure neglect of his bed sore. Dex ended up with a botched colostomy by a general surgeon. While in the coma they pumped him with fentanyl and versed.
THE FIFTH ASSAULT was When trying to wean him off of the opiods they pumped into his body the doctor added to Dex’s history that he was addicted to opiods upon admission, A BLATANT LIE to cover their butts. THE SIXTH ASSAULT was when a doctor blatantly lied about health care proxy, stating Dex made his son health care proxy when he was intubated right away upon admission.
A BLATANT LIE. Because I was with my fiancé all of the time they implored me to remove Dex off of the ventilator and I and his son refused to do so. I was told Dex would have no quality of life. THE SEVENTH ASSAULT was me trying to get the DNR removed after he woke up from their pure neglect. Dex was way to young to have a DNR on status of life. THE EIGTH ASSAULT was the Nephrologist telling me Dex would have no quality of life and I should remove him off of the ventilator.
Dex’s kidneys recovered fully. All of this time I am pleading with his son to allow me healthcare proxy because his son never travelled from Massachusetts to Orlando to see what these so called healthcare professionals was doing to his father. I finally got healthcare proxy and removed the DNR. Dex went through awful wound care changes.
THE NINTH ASSAULT WHICH SEALED MY HUSBAND’S DEMISE was a doctor on call would not wean him down from the ventilator after 55 days. Instead of weaning him off the ventilator this idiot doctor put him on straight oxygen which damaged his heart. I was told by a nurse his cardiac numbers were bad because I was in the room with him. She clearly did not want me there watching over him. I cleaned him after he would have diarrhea. I was told that I shouldn’t touch the love of my life, but I knew how Dex felt. He didn’t want to be alone.
The doctor and I argued about what he was doing to my husband’s heart. When Dex woke up from his coma they called him the “miracle patient”, no not really. Dex had a strong advocate. When Dex was discharged on January 6th, 2022 he tried to find an attorney to take his malpractice case. Not one attorney would help us because the government gave these evil healthcare facilities carte blanche on destroying a person’s body.
Dex could not walk because of the neuropathy and nerve damage from the unstageable necrotic bed sore. Dex was in and out of the hospital with high carbon dioxide levels and double pneumonia. While on a trip to Tennessee Dex and I got covid again, July 4, 2022. He had high fevers and just feeling really lousy. He ended up in the ICU in Pensacola, FL.
Two days after he was discharged he died of a massive heart attack. I am at a complete loss without my husband. These healthcare professionals that promised to do no harm HURT MY HUSBAND. After our home healthcare ran out I was my beloved husband’s caretaker. It was difficult the first time I changed his bandage on his wound. I cried so hard I couldn’t breathe.
The PICC lines Dex had and I am administering two antibiotics daily. One every 12 hours and one every 24 hours. The pain and suffering my husband went through was, to say the lease, DEHUMANIZING. I was asked countless times was Dex vaccinated. No, because he was allergic to too many antibiotics and we just couldn’t take the chance.
I am at a loss. My husband’s birthdays was stolen from him. I am angry, lost. I NEED TO KNOW WHEN ARE THESE HOSPITALS, DOCTORS AND NURSES GOING TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT THEY DID TO MY HUSBAND AND MANY OTHERS ACROSS OUR COUNTRY. READING OTHER CASE STUDIES ARE SO PAINFUL. I NEED TO KNOW WHO MADE THESE DECISIONS TO COMMITT CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY. WHEN WILL THERE BE ACCOUNTABILITY??
